Larisa specializes in the treatment of chronic and complex conditions, as well as anti-aging and longevity medicine.
Larisa’s knowledge of anatomy as well as many years of experience allows her to perform safe and painless acupuncture.
Larisa Turin received her Medical Doctor degree at the First Moscow Medical Academy. The I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy (MMA) is the oldest and the largest national medical higher educational institution. For more than 200 years the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy, former I.M. Larisa Turin completed a full course of Medical Studies at the First Moscow Medical academy, and went on to complete three years of residency. She then became a physician in one of the best hospitals in Moscow where she treated some of the most complicated cases from all of Russia.
Larisa received a unique opportunity to spend 5 years in the Far East, where she worked as a Medical Doctor. After graduation from the Mongolian State Institute of Traditional Medicine she became an Oriental Medicine Doctor.
While living in China and Mongolia, Larisa had a unique opportunity to learn ancient techniques and methods through her apprenticeships with local practitioners. Larisa’s mentors shared with her their centuries old remedies and herbal formulas that are traditionally passed on only through the bond between master and student through years of long and challenging apprenticeship.
Shortly after coming to the US, Larisa enrolled in the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine (Chicago, IL) and received her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.
Larisa was accredited by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), the highest level of certification available. She is also licensed to practice acupuncture by the State of Illinois.
